Roger Wagner

Born in Honolulu Hawaii, Roger Wagner is active as both soloist and chamber musician. He studied at the Juilliard School with Homer Mensch and David Walter, and won the job as solo bassist with the Munich Chamber orchestra in 1985, a position he held for four years.  Wagner toured extensively with the Soviet Émigré Orchestra and became principal bassist of the Orchestra of St. Ignatius Loyola and Philharmonia Virtuosi. He appears with chamber and symphony orchestras all over the tri-state region including The Brooklyn Philharmonic, Stanford Symphony, The North Eastern Philharmonic, and The Westchester Philharmonic to name a few.  He has performed on recordings on both sides of the Atlantic, and has played on sound tracks for several major Hollywood motion pictures. He plays an instrument made by Henry Lockey Hill of London in 1787.
